Terms of Service

CroSum — Personal finance, simply.
Last updated: 13 May 2026
Plain-language summary Use CroSum for what it is — a personal-finance tracker. Don't abuse it. We can suspend accounts that do. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel through Google Play. CroSum is not a regulated financial advisor — anything the recommendations engine suggests is general guidance, not personalised advice.

1. Provider

These Terms govern your use of the CroSum mobile app and the crosum.app website (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by:

By installing, opening, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.

2. The service

CroSum is a personal-finance tracking and budgeting tool. It lets you record transactions, track recurring income and expenses, plan loans and savings goals, generate monthly reports, and view personalised recommendations based on the data you enter.

The free tier is fully usable for tracking purposes. Some features (additional loans / savings goals beyond the free cap, the recommendations page, the monthly PDF report, future cloud sync) are gated behind a paid subscription.

3. Your account

4. Subscriptions and billing

4.1 Plans

We offer three subscription plans, priced in euros. Google Play shows you the final price you pay — including any VAT that applies in your country — before you confirm:

4.2 Google Play as seller of record

On Android, Google Play is the merchant who sells you the subscription, charges your payment method, and issues the receipt. CroSum receives only an opaque purchase token from Google Play that we use to validate your subscription state. We do not see, store, or process your payment-card details.

4.3 Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. You can cancel at any time from your Google Play subscriptions page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until then.

Refunds for accidental or duplicate charges are handled through Google Play's refund process. Outside that process, our refund policy is at our discretion.

4.4 Price changes

If we change a subscription price, we will email you at least 30 days in advance and Google Play will require your renewed consent before charging the new price. You can cancel at any time before the new price takes effect.

5. EU 14-day right of withdrawal

Under Dutch and EU consumer law, you normally have 14 days from signup to withdraw from a digital service contract. However, if you check the box on the subscription confirmation screen consenting that the service starts immediately, you waive this 14-day right of withdrawal in exchange for instant access to paid features. You can still cancel future renewals at any time through Google Play.

If you signed up without checking that box (e.g. a future sign-up flow that doesn't require it) and want to exercise your right of withdrawal within 14 days, email hello@crosum.app with your account email and we will issue a refund through Google Play.

6. Not financial advice

CroSum is a tracking, budgeting, and reporting tool. It is not a regulated financial advisor and we are not licensed to provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

The recommendations the app produces are generated algorithmically from the data you entered, using general rules of thumb (e.g. "save 20% of income", "pay down high-interest debt first"). They are illustrative, not personalised. Don't make irreversible financial decisions based on CroSum without consulting a qualified professional.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Dutch law, our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in subscription fees during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or any failure to achieve a financial goal — even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch law.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers within 30 days (subscription receipts retained for tax-law purposes per the Privacy Policy).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (e.g. abuse, fraud, attempting to circumvent billing). Where reasonable we will notify you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought before the competent courts of the Netherlands. Consumer-protection rights granted to you by the mandatory law of your country of residence are not affected.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will:

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect counts as acceptance of the new Terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account.
